Drugs to strengthen the immune system in adults

Effective injections to boost immunity in adults

Injectable stimulant drugs can be of plant, animal, synthetic or mixed origin. Their intramuscular versions are more convenient to use by non-professionals. And the technique of intravenous injections is usually only mastered by persons with medical education.

"Derinat"

The active ingredient of the drug "Derinat" is sodium deoxyribonucleate - an extract of fish milk, which presumably serves to increase the activity of macrophages (one of the types of immune bodies in the blood) and their pathogen-recognizing receptors.

It is injected under the skin or into muscle fibers gradually, over 2 minutes/injection, 5 ml at a time. The course is based on the principle of 1 injection in 2-3 days, in total there should be no less than 3 and no more than 15 (depending on the level of protection reduction). The cost of a 10 ml bottle “starts” at 245 rubles.

"Cycloferon"

It is based on a substance with the complex name meglumine acridone acetate - an activator of the body’s own synthesis of interferons (antiviral proteins produced in all cells). It only enhances resistance to viruses.

Cycloferon is administered intravenously/intramuscularly, 2 ml (1 ampoule), once a day. The full course is 10-12 injections, but the treatment regimen has its own characteristics. The first 2 days the injections are given in a row, the next 3 are administered every other day, and another 7 are administered with an interval of 2 days each. A package of 5 ampoules of Cycloferon costs around 300 rubles.

"Immunoglobulin"

Unlike interferons, science has not yet learned to synthesize immunoglobulins artificially. These proteins are present in blood plasma, intercellular space, and on the surface of lymphocytes. They have a spherical molecule, the ability to recognize and destroy bacteria and viruses, and develop lifelong immunity to them.

The drug “Immunoglobulin” is obtained from purified human blood plasma and is administered exclusively intravenously, through a dropper, daily, 25-50 ml (the dosage is determined by the attending physician), in a course of up to 10 droppers. A full course of strengthening the immune system (10 ampoules) will cost the buyer approximately 1,050 rubles.

"Actovegin"

It is difficult to indicate the active ingredient of the drug, since it is purified calf blood serum. Immunity injections for adults using Actovegin are given into a muscle, artery or vein, no more than 20 ml/day.

The first “portion” is administered only through a dropper, into a vein or artery, the dosage is 20 ml of the product. Subsequently, it is injected intramuscularly, daily, for 2 weeks, 5 ml. The price of a package for 5 ampoules with the indicated dosage is about 590 rubles.

"Timogen"

It is an extract of the thymus gland (thymus) of farm animals and contains predominantly glutamic acid with tryptophan.

In animals, as in humans, the thymus gland is located next to the lungs, behind the sternum, and produces lymphocytes.

These are protective bodies carried by the lymph current, capable of penetrating cells, checking them for any structural abnormalities and destroying them if any are detected.

Lymphocyte immunity is associated with intracellular infections and the likelihood of a patient developing a cancerous tumor. To strengthen the immune system with the help of "Thymogen", adults need to give injections into the muscle, once a day, 1 ampoule, for no longer than 10 days in a row. The cost of 10 ampoules of 1 ml each is around 800 rubles.

"Erbisol"

It is not possible to determine the active substance of the drug, since it is an extract of animal embryonic tissue. Apparently, we are talking about peptide compounds and a set of amino acids to activate regenerative processes and the immune response.

Erbisol primarily increases lymphocytic immunity, which is why it is used in the treatment of malignant neoplasms. It is injected into a muscle, vein or artery, 20 days, 1-2 times a day, 2 ml. Prices for a package of 10 ampoules of the product range from 2800 rubles.

Ascorbic acid

It is better known as vitamin C, which is beneficial for the immune system mainly due to its participation in the synthesis of C-reactive proteins (they activate the remaining parts of the immune response during infection).

The most popular way to consume it is orally, with vegetables and fruits rich in it (especially citrus fruits) or as a tablet supplement.

It is administered by injection for inflammation or ulceration of any part of the stomach/intestines.

The drug can be injected into a muscle or vein, no more than 3 ml, in 1-3 injections per day. The duration of the course is calculated by the doctor. The shortest is prescribed for scurvy - up to 5 days or the disappearance of its symptoms. And the longest in combination with low daily dosages is for immunodeficiencies (up to 3 weeks of daily injections).

Injections to strengthen children's immunity

When children are prescribed immunomodulators based on third-party proteins, the risk of allergies increases significantly.

Their resistance is usually normal or even increased, and their high susceptibility to infections of all types is explained by the “familiarity” of their immunity with the outside world.

Up to 12 years of age, it is rational to prescribe herbal adaptogens (they activate all parts of the defense) or multivitamin complexes (supply the immune system with nutrients).

Vitamins

In injection or oral products, only synthetic vitamins are used to increase the chemical purity of the product. They are most conveniently taken in the form of soluble or insoluble tablets with food.

But injection solutions are absorbed better and do not harm the digestive system. Examples of these are single-agent drugs:

  • retinol acetate;
  • thiamine chloride;
  • cyanocobolamine;
  • the above ascorbic acid and other vitamins.

They do not carry a decisive “load” for the immune system, but extensive groups like B (it includes 20 substances) can also be sold in complexes, such as “Compligam B” or “Beviplex”.

Echinacea purpurea

It has scientifically proven immunostimulating properties. But there is only one injection drug based on it, and it is homeopathic - “Echinacea Compositum”.

How to increase immunity during HIV infection?

Research in recent years has literally revolutionized our understanding of how the human immune system works. Scientists have long known that by listening to our body's needs - such as eating right - we can boost our immunity, but only recent research has shown that our emotional state is also of great importance.

It is known that strong emotions entail significant physical effects. It is enough to remember how the pulse quickens, the mouth becomes dry and the hands tremble when we are worried or very frightened. Although scientists still don't fully understand how this connection between the body's mental and physical states works, they are confident that the immune system does not work in isolation.

Essentially, the immune, nervous and hormonal systems are closely linked, and certain emotional states can sever these connections - in turn, lowering immunity and making the body weak and susceptible to disease. For example, extreme stress is known to interfere with the cells responsible for fighting disease, making the body more prone to colds, coughs and minor illnesses. Also, some studies suggest that emotional stress can sometimes be as detrimental to the immune system as physical factors (for example, lack of nutrition).

How our immune system works

You may not feel it, but without an immune system, any scratch or minor infection can be devastating to the body.

  • The skin and mucous membranes are the first line of defense against bacteria and viruses that cause disease. The surface of the skin is dry, contains an acidic environment and beneficial bacteria. They prevent the penetration of harmful bacteria.
  • Leukocytes, or white blood cells, destroy harmful microorganisms and foreign particles - the second line of defense of our body.
  • Special white blood cells, also called B and T lymphocytes, are also involved in the development and maintenance of immunity. Some cells produce antibodies that prevent the proliferation of bacteria and viruses, while others destroy pathogenic and infected cells and help protect the body from cancer.

Here are some tips to help you feel better physically and emotionally:

BODY

  • Eat more berries. Blueberries, raspberries and cranberries - in fact, all berries contain high levels of antioxidants that help fight disease. Supplement your diet with bright, colorful fruits and vegetables - they contain more antioxidants. Of course, it's best to eat fresh, recently picked berries, but frozen ones are fine too.
  • Have a cup of tea. Scientists have found that the substances found in ordinary black tea—whether you drink it with or without milk—help strengthen the immune system, while other researchers claim that green tea promotes skin cell renewal. It was also found that regular consumption of tea can reduce the risk of stomach cancer.
  • Don't forget about sleep. Regular lack of sleep will definitely affect your body's immune response. And sound, deep sleep stimulates the growth of hormones that increase immunity. Although we all need a different number of hours of sleep, most people need between seven and nine hours of restful sleep per night. The quality of your sleep is also important, so try to stick to a regular schedule and go to bed at the same time every night.
  • Eat fish. Any fish will do - new research has shown that eating it regularly reduces the risk of bowel cancer. But in addition, fatty fish contain large amounts of vitamin A and immunostimulating Omega-3 fatty acids, which increase the ability of white blood cells to destroy pathogenic bacteria.
  • Take up tai chi. Regular practice of this ancient Chinese gymnastics, according to scientists, increases the number of disease-fighting cells by up to 40%. But in fact, any regular exercise helps improve immunity. Studies have shown that people who regularly exercise are 25% less likely to get colds than those who like to lounge in front of the TV. Physical activity helps burn harmful substances produced due to stress, improves the overall health of the body and improves the functioning of the lymphatic system, which removes toxins from the body.
  • Nibble on nuts. Any nuts are healthy because they reduce cholesterol levels in the blood. Almonds contain large amounts of vitamin E, which helps improve immunity, especially in older people. Brazil nuts are rich in selenium, which is necessary for the normal functioning of the immune system. It turns out that the average amount of selenium we consume per day is three times less than the recommended amount.
  • Don't forget about zinc. Zinc deficiency weakens the immune system. Numerous studies have shown that taking zinc tablets or nasal sprays shortens the duration of colds. And if you take gluconate during the first day of a cold, the duration of the disease can be reduced by up to 75%. Zinc oxide cream also helps relieve cold symptoms and reduces recovery time. And regular use of vitamins containing zinc completely reduces your chances of getting sick. Sprouted grains, oysters, pumpkin seeds, lean beef and milk are natural sources of zinc.
  • Have sex more often. Looking for an excuse to add passion to your life? Here's the good news - American scientists have found that people who have sex at least once or twice a week produce more immunoglobulin A - antibodies that fight infection. Even a simple touch can have an incredible effect - hugging your partner can reduce stress levels for both of you!

Medicines to enhance immunity. Let's talk frankly

Marina Kuznetsova | 2015-01-10

Hello, dear friends.

Today we continue the conversation about the immune system and immunomodulators. Remember where we left off last time?

I said that immunomodulators are needed only in a state of immunodeficiency.

And how to determine them in 1-2 minutes of communication with the buyer? What can you offer him better in this or that situation? And what if they ask for something to boost immunity? Don't let go of anything or what? And give him a lecture about the damage of immunomodulators? And then gets hit in the neck by his superiors?

Let's talk about it.

Actually, friends, as you remember, we had some farming circles. Before starting an article, I collect information, study different opinions, think, analyze. But no other group of drugs has raised as many questions as immunoboosters.

But in order.

Immunodeficiency conditions

Immune deficiency is primary and secondary.

Primary Primary is a congenital disorder at a specific point in the immune system. Such patients usually do not live long, since any infection is fatal for them.

Secondary ones are more common. This can be referred to:

  • Viral, bacterial and parasitic infections.
  • Performance impairments.
  • Serious blood loss.
  • Endocrine diseases.
  • Severe injuries, operations.
  • Long-term use of certain drugs.
  • Unfavorable environment.
  • Chronic stress.
  • Cancer.

By what signs can one suspect immunodeficiency?

  • Infections often recur.
  • Normal treatment doesn't help.
  • The disease lasts a long time.
  • Complications occur frequently.
  • The condition is disgusting, the temperature is low.

An immunogram can confirm the state of immunodeficiency, i.e. a special blood test in which all immune compounds are broken down into shelves and it becomes clear what the problem is.

Depending on these disorders, the doctor prescribes the right medications.

  • For example, in addition to activating the synthesis of interferons, amiksin (Tayloron) restores the T-suppressor-T-helper ratio.
  • Polyoxidonium improves macrophages and stimulates the formation of antibodies.
  • Galavit acts on several immune compounds: activates macrophages, improves the production of cytokines (we talked about this last time), stimulates the production of interferons and antibodies.

etc. and so on. etc. and so on.

Most people have normal immunity! Therefore, it copes well with common infections on its own and without outside intervention.

But there are times in a person’s life when immunity decreases somewhat.

First of all, there is a child . Until about six months they are protected by maternal antibodies and usually rarely get sick.

The antibodies are then destroyed and natural protection is reduced. Therefore, babies get sick more often and longer. However, this does not mean that every cold episode they have should be treated with medications to improve their immunity. Let the immune system develop, improve, improve.

Every month there are children who get sick at the age of 2-3 years, and then less and less often, and at school their immune system is already familiar with everything.

Take the top leaders. Hordes of viruses and bacteria attack you every day, but most of you are not sick? Why is this so? Because your immunity has become stronger over the years in the pharmacy against these aggressors.

I remember when I was a pediatrician. In every area there are so-called socially disadvantaged families, where parents drink, where children walk barefoot, half naked and half hungry. But they very rarely catch colds because their immunity has hardened.

Symptoms of decreased immunity

Drugs to strengthen the immune system should be taken only if there is a reason for it. If your immune system is not low, medications may harm you. Signs of decreased immunity are:

  • Constant weakness;
  • Susceptibility to colds and slow recovery;
  • A feeling of fatigue that practically does not go away;
  • Wounds that take a long time to heal on the skin;
  • Pain in different parts of the body without an identified cause;
  • Inflamed areas on mucous membranes and skin.

A weakened immune system puts your health at risk. If you do not take certain measures, not very pleasant consequences are possible. That is why, at the first signs of decreased immunity, you need to undergo an examination and find out the cause of this condition.

Drugs to enhance immunity can be used if you:

  • Have suffered from tuberculosis;
  • You are experiencing psychological and physical stress;
  • Are you in your teens and are nervous about upcoming exams or sessions?
  • Travel long distances with changes in climate and time zone;
  • You often get sick, especially during periods of massive spread of infections.

To strengthen the immune system, there are various drugs. They activate the immune system. Products can be based on herbal ingredients, components of animal or synthetic origin.

For people in serious condition, with a protracted nature of the disease, immunomodulators are prescribed in the form of tablets or injections. At the doctor's discretion, other forms of drug administration are possible.

List of injections to boost immunity in adults

Maintaining immunity means protecting the body from disease and helping to fight attacks from pathogenic microorganisms. Immune injections can help the body strengthen its resistance. However, do not forget that additional support exhausts the body from working independently.
