What is vaccination

There are several types of reactions to the vaccine:

  • unusual vigor, mobility and performance on the day of vaccination, weakness and headache on the second day.

All these consequences are temporary and represent a natural reaction of the body to the introduction of the encephalitis virus. ADSM vaccination - transcript

Most vaccinations have names in the form of abbreviations, which encrypt the names of the diseases against which they are directed.

ADSM means adsorbed diphtheria-tetanus in small doses.

Many parents draw a parallel with the DPT vaccine, which stands for adsorbed pertussis-diphtheria-tetanus vaccine.

ADSM vaccination is given to adults. How to get vaccinated and when

The drug looks like a yellowish-white suspension, with a loose sediment that disappears after shaking. The drug contains the preservative merthiolate 60 mcg, but its amount is not dangerous to the body.

  • D – diphtheria
  • C – tetanus, purified adsorbed

Anatoxin is a safe preparation from a microbial toxin, deprived of toxic properties by exposure to formaldehyde, capable of inducing active immunity in vaccinated people. The ADSM vaccine contains tetanus and diphtheria toxoids.

Adsorbed means collected on something, in this case the components of the graft are adsorbed using aluminum hydroxide. Reduced dose of antigens compared to ADS vaccination.

The drug is administered intramuscularly; thanks to the sorbent, antibodies are released gradually, provoking the development of immunity. If antibodies immediately enter the blood, the immune system will neutralize them, but this will not lead to the formation of long-term protection.

Let's take a closer look at the question of when and where the ADS-M vaccination is given, and what it is intended for.

ADS-M is used:

  • for revaccination of tetanus and diphtheria in children from the age of 6-7 years
  • revaccination in adolescents aged 16-17 years
  • revaccination in adults every 10 years
  • prevention of tetanus in injuries
  • in exceptional cases, ADS-M is used as a replacement for DTP or ADS

Where do children get the ADS-M vaccine? When immunizing young children, intramuscular injections are given only in the anterior outer part of the thigh, this is stipulated in the Sanitary and Epidemiological Rules in paragraph 3.37. This is due to the fact that this muscle is better developed than others in the body of even the smallest children.

Modern medicine has come to the conclusion that injection of vaccines into the buttock area is not safe for children. Compatibility of measles vaccines with alcoholic beverages

Children and adults in local clinics are vaccinated free of charge with a domestic drug - mumps-measles or rubella-measles cultured live vaccine from Microgen. There is also a Russian single-component live measles vaccine (LMV). Among the imported vaccinations, polyvalent Priorix, MMP II and the monovaccine Ruvax are used. What to do after vaccination with ADSM

After any vaccination, parents should monitor the behavior and well-being of their baby.

If he experiences side effects characteristic of this vaccine (the doctor must warn him about them), his body temperature rises, or other disturbances occur, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

How long after vaccination can you drink alcohol?

Immunologists prohibit drinking alcohol during the first three days after the vaccination procedure.

Doctors also advise refraining from drinking alcohol for two weeks after immunization, especially if the patient received a live vaccine. When immunizing against rabies, doctors' recommendations regarding abstinence from alcohol are more individual.
