Fire technical minimum

The fire technical minimum ( PTM ) is the basis for ensuring fire safety in buildings and structures. It represents a set of requirements and measures aimed at preventing the occurrence and spread of fire, as well as ensuring the safe evacuation of people in the event of a fire.

The basic requirements of the fire technical minimum include the following:

  1. Fire safety of buildings and structures: fire walls, doors, shafts, automatic fire extinguishing systems, fire alarm and evacuation equipment are required.

  2. Fire safety of electrical systems: compliance with the operating rules for electrical installations, implementation of measures to prevent short circuits, overloads and overheating are required.

  3. Ensuring that structures and materials are fireproof: it is important to use non-combustible materials during construction and repairs, as well as to meet special requirements for protecting structures from fire and flame.

  4. Ensuring fire safety during operation: it is necessary to conduct an annual scheduled fire-technical inspection of buildings and structures, maintain fire extinguishing agents, fire-fighting water supplies, etc. in good condition.

  5. Fire safety when storing and using explosive and flammable materials: special measures are required for their storage, use and transportation, as well as training of workers in fire safety rules.

  6. Ensuring safe evacuation: provision of evacuation routes, fire exits, fire escapes and entrances is provided, as well as evacuation planning and training.

It is important to note that specific fire safety requirements and standards may vary in different countries, regions and types of buildings. Therefore, local regulations and fire codes should be referred to for complete information.
